Art with Ms Laurie

This is Ms Laurie. She visits us every Friday morning at 8:30.
It is a great way to end the week!

Our first project this year was to make pinch pots out of clay.

We started with plain clay.

We pushed our thumbs in the middle to start forming a pot.

Then we pinched in the sides of the pot to form the top.

Ms Laurie carved our names into the bottoms of the pots and fired them in the kiln.

The next week she brought them back and we glazed them.

Ms Laurie took them with her again to fire in the kiln one last time.
We can't wait to see the finished products!

Last year at our first annual GALA, Oh the Places You'll Go, pinch pots made
by students were available in the silent auction. They were a big hit!
If you are interested in buying one of these one-of-a-kind works of art, please call the school.
